How to install the stamping die on the punch press?
Many stamping workers are not skilled enough to install the stamping die on the punch press, here is an article to help you to install the die correctly and quickly:
Installation of stamping die is mainly familiar with the three parts of the punch: stroke screw, die gland and table. As shown in the figure below.

1. It is necessary to understand the structure and working process of the punch. Then you need to carefully check the punch, make sure it can work normally.
2. Clean the working table and place the stamping die on it. Then separate the upper and lower dies, and place a piece of cushion iron between the die and punch.
3. Adjust the stroke screw to the shortest position with a punch wrench, then move the flywheel (or use the inching button)to make the slider drop to the dead point, and import the die handle into the hole of the slider plane during the sliding process. The position of the stroke screw is shown in the figure:

4. Adjust the connecting rod of the slider with a punch wrench to make the slider downward until the lower plane of the slider is in contact with the upper plane of the upper template of the punch die. Then tighten the bolt on the gland of the die and fasten the upper die to the slider. The following picture shows the die gland.

5. Move the flywheel (or use the inching button) to separate the upper and lower dies, and take out the pad iron.
6. Move the flywheel (or use the inching button) to make the slider drop to the dead point, adjust the slider connecting rod to make the slider drop slowly and move the die. Make the punch enter the die about 1mm.
7. Observe whether the gap between the upper and lower dies is even. If not, tap the lower dies with a mallet until the gap is even, and press the lower dies with a pressing plate. It is important to note that when strike the mold, mallet or copper bar must be used to avoid damaging the mold. When fastening the lower die, the bolts should be fastened in diagonal order.
8. Move the flywheel (or use the inching button), test and punch the cardboard. Then observe the section, and judge whether the clearance is even. If not, adjust it until the clearance is even.
9. After the adjustment, remove the sundries on the mold and work table. Then start the punch press, and try to punch the iron plate after empty punching.
10. Observe the cross section of the stamping parts. If peripheral burr is not uniform, you need to adjust the clearance again and try punching until the peripheral burr is uniform.
11. Adjust the slider connecting rod to minimize the depth of the punch into the die.
12. After the adjustment, start the punch press and conduct the test punch.
13. Test the punching parts, analyze the product defects, and solve the product defects by debugging the mold.
14. Clean up tools and sundries around the punch press after testing and debugging. Start production.
Now the stamping die has been installed. For workers without installation experience, they must operate under the guidance of experienced master, to avoid damage to the die.
